Archie is building the financial infrastructure for the future of work. We’re starting by building a finance automation platform for businesses in the hospitality and events space (think Coachella, Soho House, The Ned, Public Hotels). Over the past 12 months we’ve grown our payments volume by 16x and raised $4.5M in seed funding from B Capital Group, Notation Capital, MaC, and the founders of Ramp, Capchase, 8sleep, NuvoCargo, Blank Street, Lambda School, and many more. We’re a small team on a BIG mission and we come from Meta, Palantir, Google, Thrasio, and ZocDoc. I'm the CEO & Co-Founder of Archie. I am originally from Puerto Rico and previously worked at Facebook and Instagram's Commerce & Payments product team as well as Square's strategy & ops team. I am obsessed with mezcal, dim sum, and Monocle magazine (sometimes together).
🤾 You will
- Drive execution and delivery against product roadmap
- Build, lead, and grow successful engineering teams
- Proactively discover and advocate for engineering priorities
- Focus on recruiting and retaining talent needed to achieve Archie’s company milestones
- Own engineering team responsibilities, like on-call process or translating requirements into eng work
🚀 What we want to see
- 8+ years of experience, 3+ years managing teams in a startup environment (Seed—>Series C)
- Strong and effective communication ability to convey complex ideas in a simple manner, apply active listening when working with others, and drive teams to resolutions during discussions.
- Experience driving initiatives across entire engineering organizations and cross-functional teams while setting clear expectations, timelines, and direction.
- A proven track record of building cultures that encourage ambition and foster empathy. You will create and contribute to a healthy and collaborative culture that showcases Archie’s values.
- You lead by example and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and dive into the team’s work to fill gaps as needed. You thrive in chaos + have a “can do” attitude.
- You have experience building / managing teams that build in Node.js w/ Typescript, relational databases (PostgresSQL), DynamoDB, Redis, and Elastic Search

- You are a champion for the customer and constantly put yourself in the user’s shoes, and strive to create an intuitive and delightful experience.
- You have high engineering standards and drive your team(s) to bring consistency to the codebase, infrastructure, processes, and more.
- Previous experience having founded a venture or were a foundational member of an early-stage start up. We value entrepreneurial spirit & scrappiness!
